Do you have a problem?

On another level, a DWI complaint should lead one to an evaluation of the circumstances which may have lead to the arrest and charge. Many times a counselor can be helpful in evaluating whether counseling or therapy is necessary.

Many different types of counseling are available to deal with alcohol related issues.  Alcohol counselors and counselors providing alcohol education, are readily available and can be located in  phone books, internet searches and review of providers listed in different medical insurance plans.

There are also a variety of different programs available to fit the special needs of every individual.  Programs range from short term counseling to intensive out-patient treatment and ultimately in-patient treatment.  Reference to these programs can be made through the National Directory of Drug and Alcohol Abuse Treatment Programs.  This directory is provided by the United States Department of Health and Human Services, Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, Office of Applied Studies.  Information contained in these volume can be obtained through Samhsa’s website at www.SAMHSA.gov.
